Garden to Table by Zachary

On Wednesday we did garden to table. This week I was doing gardening, it was my first time in the garden this year ( 2015 ). When we got our name tags we went in the garden and Mrs. Masters told us what to do. "First we have to get the vegtables for the cookers". So I walked off. We had to pick 5 green beans each to put in the basket, after that Ella gave the beans to the cookers. After that Mrs. Masters said "our garden looks so sad and dry" so we fixed it by planting bright orange flowers in the side of the garden and watered it. Finally we got to eat, it was so delicious...

Swimming by Taylor

In swimming I have being getting better at strokes and things like catch up, freestyle, back stroke, butterfly, and breast stroke. We have being going to swimming in the school with Hilton brown. Let's say thank you to Hilton Brown and the other teachers for helping us get better at our swimming so when we do our swimming sports we don't drown and fail in the swimming sports.

The swimming coaches we have were really really really really really cool.

Today we played games like flipper ball and did some class relays. It was great!

Week 3 by Eve

It`s week 3, and we are having so much fun! On Monday we started making marble runs for maths and they are looking really good.

This week was the last week of swimming and we were all working really hard.

In Writing we did some descriptive writing about our houses and later on we did instructional writing about different types of sandwiches and how to make them eg. honey, jam, peanutbutter. We did instructional writing to get ready to write the instructions for the marble run.

For Topic we did a SOLO map for people that look after you or have a function.

In Mandarin we made little booklets about the Chinese new year and they have some awesome pictures of Chinese dragons and the animal zodiac.

On Friday we got our buddies and we read them some writing from our writing book.

This week was really cool and we can`t wait till next week!

Our marble runs- By Livi

This week we are making marble runs. It is a competition challenge. We have to make our marble stop around 500 milimetres or 50 centremetres. We could only use 3 cardboard boxes and 1 long strip of card board.

We used card board tubes (that we made ) and lots of tunnels to help our marbles slow down. My group made lots of platforms to each one then finally a tunnel and then a ending. We need sides so that the marbles do not fall off.

We need to write instructions for other groups to follow on competition day, they wont be allowed to talk.

The Great Marble Challenge

This week in Room 32 we have started a great marble run challenge. We have six different groups made from our Garden to Table groups. Each group has to design a marble run and then decide how far away from the exit of their marble run the marble is going to go. They need to write very specific interruptions on how to use their marble run.

After we finish our marble runs and a great set of instructions, we are going to have a competition day where another group has to use their marble run using their instructions. They are going to record how far from that specific point the marbles reached. Teams get points awarded if the marble is quite close to that point.

Here are some pictures of our crazy marble runs progress. Students were only told what equipment to use and what their goal was. The rest was up to them.

Garden to Table by Ella

On Wednesday we did G.T.T in the kitchen. My group made Chinese coleslaw . We put wasabi, sesame seeds, cabbage, and oil in it.

One of the groups made small pancakes. The other group made corn fritters.

The gardeners bring up the stuff you need if it and it is in the garden.

Then we all ate together.

Week 2 in Pictures

Week 2 has been pretty great and we have been doing some interesting things in Room 32. Whether we were: writing a description about our houses, making our own Addition pyramids, telling time, measuring our classroom and our arms, swimming, enjoying a Garden to Table feast, out for sport - Room 32 is awesome!

Garden to table

This week was the first Garden to table for the term.
The first thing we did was meet the new helper, Peter. Peter had helped out at GTT for 16 years.

Lexy's mum Karen helped out in the garden. While we were gardening we found something very cool - there where 2 snails mating, they had shot a love dart to each other. It was a white little ball connected to each other. We also found 3 other snails, one of them Archie sat on.
At the end of the class we threw in the snails for the hens to eat - when one of them pecked it, we went YAY!!!!!!!

Week 2 By Jax

''Week Two is awesome'', I say on Monday when I am in the school swimming pool while I play the the ring chasing game with Jacob.

On Tuesday I played t-ball with my class and didn't get out! Roman and some others got a home run!

Wednesday was awesome because we got to describe our houses and my house is the best house ever! My house has a pool, a giant backyard and both are awesome!

On Thursday, the swimming was awesome, we played the ring on head game and Jacob and I paired up, the chaser always wins.

And finally on Friday, I am writing this blog post remembering these memories at this very moment.

Our First Week by Izzy

First day back! We found out that Miss Cooper loves the word AWESOME! We now love it too! We also got homework on the first day, how CRAZY is that! Luckily it was easy.We don't have a Friday this week because of Waitangi day (holiday after holiday.)

In writing this week we have been talking about our holidays we are also drawing our own selfies for parent night next week.

The tables have been chosen,  some people had to move because it was not fair and others  were talking too much. Another awesome thing we have done this week is make Lego characters of our selves, most people are finished although some are not.

We have a class song - it is every thing is AWESOME!!!
